Henry's Old Lock Wall - Henry, Illinois

Same song and I've lost count of the verse, trying to stay in one place waiting for our turn in the lock.  Once we were given permission to enter we didn't pull straight in.  We came in perpendicular to the lock entrance since the rust colored structure in the pic is part of the barge blocking the normal approach.

With 15 of us in the lock we side tied again to each other which works out quite well and it is easy.

They finally found us!! This was a little unnerving since he was so close and low. Brent thought the Canadians finally caught up to us for not having a radio operator's license throughout Ontario.

The Illinois River has been very calm and lazy. But, there are still some pretty large tows. The barges above are 3 across and 5 long.

Coming into our stop for the night.  Each one of them are all very different. We tied to the rock wall on the left behind the boat in the picture.

Believe it or not we had really good power here even though it was mounted on this pole.

Here we are tied along the old lock wall.

And here we are fendered-up along the wall!

There was a small marina just below the restaurant at the lock wall. However, it only had about 3 feet of water depth so it was not an option for Second Wave.

We did have company at Henry's with 4 other Looper boats.

Even though it was just a wall they had a restaurant onsite.  Remember every place is different and unique!

A tradition in this restaurant was to leave your bra behind, I didn't partake in that tradition!

The next morning on the wall at Henry's. It looks even better with a cup of coffee!
