Killarney, Ontario

It was another beautiful morning when we left Britt.  We had to backtrack from yesterday to, unfortunately, leave the small craft channel and get back out to the big water of Georgian Bay since the wildfires were burning closest to Britt.

Misty Pearl leading the way!

Again, the scenery has been just beautiful. It is said that these are the best fresh water cruising grounds anywhere in the world.

Back out in the open but it wasn't too bad. I know it looks like nothing but pictures never tell the true story of the water!

The granite mountains in the background, I thought, looked like Colorado with Caribbean-clear water!! They were much prettier in person.

Coming into Killarney.

We stayed at the Sportsman Inn and again it was different from all the other places we have stayed.  Half the slips were on one side of the channel and the other half were on the other. We had to drop our dinghy and use it to go over and check in or go to town.

If you didn't have a dinghy you called "Tinker Bell" using a ship's bell mounted on the dock and the marina boat would come across and pick you up!

This was the busiest marina entry we've had on the whole trip. Brent kept trying to call the marina on the VHF for docking instructions but couldn't get air time. Everyone was calling/talking on the radio - it was insane! Again, we're convinced that nobody in Canada works for a living (at least not in July).

At the end of each long dock on our side were 2 red Adirondack chairs to people watch or to relax in.

We used them a lot!

Dana and I enjoying the view with Benny and Oscar until, with one swish of her hand, her phone was 21 feet down!!  Sad day....can't get a replacement until we are out of Ontario!

Many restaurants claim they have the BEST or World Famous fish and chips, this one was a fail for sure!!

Dinghy ride to watch the sunset!

It was quite spectacular!

Exploring a very popular anchorage the next day.

Glad I didn't need any refried beans, $4.99!! Even in Canadian dollars that's ridiculous!  I long for HEB!!

Or Ziploc bags for $9.99!!

This was posted at the entrance to the General Store.

Had a good time in Killarney!
