Connelly and New Baltimore, NY

We had 2 more stops on the Hudson River before we entered the Erie Canal. Our first stop took us to Rondout Yacht Basin in Connelly, NY.

Another pool that we had to bypass, cloudy and cool! I will be able to return to Texas with 2 brand new swim suits with tags still on since I have worn a swim suit exactly one time on this trip.

This is the view from the back of Second Wave looking back down the channel toward the Hudson River.

This is a light house as we turned into the river where the marina was.

Misty Pearl came in a day later and we joined them on their boat for docktails before going to dinner.

Enjoying dinner at Ole Savannah with 4 other Looper couples.  The lady in the jean jacket and her husband decided to do the Loop after meeting the couple we bought our boat from for the first time in Aransas Pass, TX.

Our boat had just returned from the Loop and the owners talked so highly of it that after retiring they too, decided to take the journey.  They started from a marina in Kemah very close to ours.

My yummy jumbo!

And Brent's fried chicken.

The small town around the restaurant is charming.

The scenery along the Hudson is just beautiful. Those are the Catskills Mountains in the background of the photo below as we left Connelly and headed for New Baltimore the next morning.

The Hudson River Valley is filled with these old lighthouses that are constructed on various points that protrude out into the water; and sometimes are built right in the water like shown below.

Wouldn't want to cut that grass!

This is the second seaplane we have seen along the way.  The first one was in FL. This one lifted off right behind us as we were cruising along at about 7 knots.

Our second stop was at Shady Harbor Marina in New Baltimore, NY.

Right after pulling into the marina these 2 tankers decided to do-si-do in front of us.  Glad we were already docked.

A little closer..

And closer...

And closer...

Until they passed flawlessly. Each was about 700 feet long.

Another pool area we didn't swim in.  We did sit out around the pool though, so we are getting closer.

We had a pre-anniversary dinner with 2 other Loopers at the marina restaurant called Boathouse.

This was an amazing piece of Prime Rib.  One of our friends ordered it.

After dinner the owner of the marina came and sat with us and visited with us about the Erie Canal.  He treats all Loopers to this beer shot with a cream liquor on top.  It was quite tasty.

Although I seem to be making a not so tasty face!

Then John and Marilyn surprised us with an Anniversary dessert!!

The chef came to visit too, must have been a slow night in the kitchen.
