Home Sweet Home - Fort Myers, FL - Legacy Harbour Marina

We arrived in Ft. Myers, FL on Tuesday and will call Legacy Harbour Marina home for the month of March.  We were here 15 minutes and a gentleman we met at the AGLCA Rendezvous in October greeted us on the dock.  I asked if we were on his radar and he said his wife spotted the AGLCA flag we fly as we pulled into the marina and he wanted to welcome us.  There are about 20 "Looper" boats here waiting to continue on at the first of April.

Wednesday we got the opportunity to go to a Red Sox/Pirates Spring Training game FREE!!  Brent was in the Marina office talking to the Harbor Master when someone came inside and asked if anyone could use two tickets to the game. Since Brent was the only one if the office not working, he made himself available and offered to pay for the tickets but the owner was just happy that someone would put them to good use. So instead of changing fuel filters that afternoon, we Ubered to Fenway Park South about 12 miles away. I know its the official Spring home of the Red Sox because we paid $8.50 for a beer.

The game was at 1:05 in the afternoon and look at how packed the stands are.  My teacher hat went on again and asked "why aren't these kids in school"?!!!

One evening we went to Capone's Restaurant and that glass vault is in the floor.  Pretty cool and great pizza!  I liked how the employees are in costume all the time.

OMG.....Bennett's is across the street from the marina and this is their sinful Maple Bacon donut. If you want a selection of donuts you must get there early because they sell out quickly.  All their donuts are amazing and I'm sure we will have to return there.

This weekend downtown, which is within easy walking distance from the marina, they had an Art and Music festival. There is something downtown every weekend, even most week days as well. By the way, a new grocery store (Publix) is an equal distance walk in the opposite direction.

He's real.

Walked to church again today, St Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Surprisingly there were seats still available 10 minutes prior to Mass beginning.

A cool front came through this weekend so today's  high was 74 and the low 50.  It was time for a dinghy ride.  Sure was nice.

Each Sunday from 6-10pm bongo, drum and tambourine players gather in the park two blocks away and jam.  Anyone can join the group, bring your stool and instrument!!  There's something for everyone.
