Meldrum Bay , ON Last Canadian stop!
After 33 days in Canada we have reached our final stop, Meldrum Bay. It sure was nice to visit Canada where everyone was so welcoming but we are ready for some normalcy or our new normalcy for now.
For a small marina they really pack them in and shuffle the boats when someone is ready to leave and others are not since you are virtually pinned in.
We had the advantage of not being pinned in since we were fortunate to get to plug into the "Frankenstein" pedestal (yes, those are wooden splints keeping the pedestal vertical). Apparently someone had a small collision with the power pedestal so only one side worked which left us with no one behind us. But, we had the highest voltage we've had on the entire trip - go figure.
There were more things at this marina that were "out of order" than in working condition. In the restrooms the water temp varied when the washers were in use or when someone was in the shower or when the toilet flushed. And the smoke alarms would go off if it became too humid inside. We kept to the head on Second Wave.
What does our slip rental payment cover????
Below is the Meldrum Bay Inn and Restaurant and by far one of the best meals we have had. It was down the street from the marina and since it was the only place to eat in the area reservations were needed every night they were open. The Inn has just a couple of rooms upstairs and the bottom floor of the house is used as the restaurant and a parlor room. It was super cool!!
There was one room inside the house used for the restaurant and the rest of the tables were outdoors on the patio.
Everything was delicious!!
Including the Bumble Berry pie and ice cream! We will need to join a gym when we return home due to all this eating out and desserts!!
