Drummond Island, Michigan - Welcome back to the US of A!!!

Hallelujah!!!! We crossed back into the US today and it strangely feels really good.  Clearing Customs was a breeze just like checking into Canada.  I really don't know why people made such a big deal about it since there is really nothing to it.

A couple of the things to look forward to are: all food labels will be in English instead of French, we can use US currency, no more "cc machine" brought to the table, no more international transaction fees, all electronic devices will be off roaming, Chick-fil-A and Tex-Mex to name a few.

There is a US Customs office at the Drummond Island marina. "Office" is a bit misleading - its a booth, bench, camera and touch-screen kiosk.

This is a fairly popular place for locals to store their boats during the winter. You can be reasonably close to the North Channel and Georgian Bay while also being very accessible to Lakes Michigan, Huron and Superior.

These are some of the large heated boat hangars used to keep the boats. Some boats were still inside from last winter that never splashed this season.

Very cool double-masted sailboat, the Huron Jewel, took people out daily.

Looking toward the west from the marina.

Well, we tried to satisfy our Tex-Mex cravings too early. Worst Mexican food ever!!! Shouldn't trust the locals on Mexican food until we have returned to Texas!!
