Henry's Fish Restaurant

After all the excellent route information that we got from Robin we set off the next morning for Henry's Fish Restaurant.

In the photo above you can see an inukshuk (rough stones stacked as a landmark/sign - this one resembles a person). We met some Loopers who named their boat Inukshuk (try saying that three times quickly while calling the Lock Master).

As you can see below it wasn't the calmest waters as we got our first taste of the real Georgian Bay but we survived.

We were happier when we were able to tuck behind some of the massive pieces of granite and get in the small craft channel for part of the way.

Henry's Fish Restaurant is a come by boat or sea plane only eatery.  It is on Frying Pan Island and they are super busy for lunch and dinner.  All their food comes by boat daily such as fresh pickerel, white fish, trout and perch. Even though they are open until 9 they seat the last table at 8 because their employees have to go home by boat too.

There are slips for visitors for just an hour or two or slips for overnight guests on a first come, first serve basis.  We stayed the night.

Not sure if this guy below was on the menu.

We had learned a few day prior that there were wildfires burning in southern Ontario that might impede our navigation through sections of the small craft channel as we continued north. Below is a map of the area that is restricted for navigation. We'll have to go off shore to get around that.
