We have wheels and explored Destin
You forget what a luxury it is to have a car when you haven't had one for a month. When we get to a marina our only option is to walk, unless we Uber/Lyft somewhere.
Fortunately, the marina we are at has a courtesy car (marina owner's car) that we can use to go get groceries, etc. We decided it was too far to go sight seeing in the courtesy car so we rented a car for the day ($25). We were free to go wherever we wanted for as long as we wanted. We were Destin bound and at least for half the day the sun was shining. Brent was so happy that he got to wear shorts!!
Harborwalk Village is made up of shops, restaurants, and charter companies. Its about 10 miles from our marina.
As with most things we've seen in Florida so far, there is much preparation underway at all of the facilities before the high season arrives in March.
Saw some other "Loopers" at Harborwalk. Looks like they just came from a Timeshare presentation.
Its all fun and games until somebody gets hurt. Not sure what happened here or how long this has been here on Miramar Beach in Destin.
View from our table. It looks warm outside but its a lie!
We decided to have an early dinner at Pompano Joe's. The blackened Grouper sandwich was delish! It was only 4:00 and the place was packed, on a Tuesday. Everyone there seemed to be with a small group. As we walked to the car we saw license plates from Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin, you get the picture....snowbirds!
The pelican pics return!
Maybe a great blue heron???
(Need some help with this one, Mr. Bird.)
