Mother nature is in control again!!
This was our view Sunday morning when we wanted to leave Shell Morgan, fogged in until 11am! That meant that we couldn't make our intended destination (Morgan City) with the remaining daylight. So, we had to be flexible. In the first photo Brent is looking across the channel where, of course, he can't see a thing. We adjusted our plans for the day and only travelled 15 more miles east to Delcambre, LA.
We decided to do some exploring, on foot of course, and get off the boat. As we walked we saw a church down the street and decided to check it out. It was Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with a huge above ground cemetery filled with tombs and crypts immediately next door. If you have relatives named Broussard or LeBlanc they are probably buried here.
We returned to the boat to prepare gumbo for dinner and invited Ken and Lori to join us. We will explore more tomorrow since we will stay another night with rain coming overnight.
This photo says it all. Cruising through LA has its own charm.
Brent usually gets his Western movie fix on Wednesdays (Western Wednesdays). But, since the names of the days don't have as much significance anymore, he got one in tonight (The Magnificent Seven) before turning in for the evening!
